The Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome is located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is home to the Minnesota Twins, the Minnesota Vikings, and the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers, so sports events are certainly plentiful in Minneapolis.
The Metrodome currently sits on 20 acres of land. The building is 16 stories tall and includes a 10-acre fiberglass roof. After taking a while to begin work on the construction of the Metrodome, it finally opened in 1982 and cost a total of $55 million. The Metrodome was named in honor of former U.S. Senator and Vice President Hubert H. Humphrey because he loved Minnesota and was a big sports aficionado.
